TRANSPARENCY
HOW THESE BOOKS ARE MADE
Last updated: October 2026
I use AI to help make the books, articles and images on this site. In the spirit of transparency, here is exactly what AI does, what I do, and how the facts are checked.
WHAT AI DOES
- ▸Helps me find and sort research.
- ▸Writes first drafts from my outlines, my direction and my own training notes.
- ▸Checks grammar and spelling, and runs editing passes for clarity, length and consistency. This is one of the biggest jobs it does.
- ▸Writes the free protocols and race training plans on this site from the answers you give. Your answers are sent to the AI service to write the plan and aren't stored on this site. The privacy policy has the details.
- ▸Creates most of the images, including the book covers and the pictures on posts. The photos of me on the About page are real.
WHAT I DO
Every book and article starts with me: the topic, the angle, who it's for and what it should and shouldn't say. I put hours into each one giving creative direction and guidance. I read every book myself before it's published and send back edits, rewrites and changes, round after round, cutting what doesn't hold up and adding what's missing. Nothing goes out until I've approved it.
The experience behind it is mine: four decades of running, two decades of triathlon including four Ironmans and more than 300 races, and the last two years of CrossFit. AI can help me write it down. It can't do the training for me.
HOW THE FACTS ARE CHECKED
- ▸Every study a post or book describes is checked against the published paper, so the numbers and the people studied match what the authors actually reported.
- ▸Research posts end with a list of sources linked to PubMed, so you can read the papers yourself.
- ▸When the evidence is thin, mixed or in a different group of people than you (young men, for example), the post says so instead of hiding it.
- ▸Nothing here diagnoses you, interprets your lab numbers, or tells you to change your medication. I'm an athlete reporting what the research found, not a clinician.
Even so, there are hundreds of citations across these books and articles, and some will be wrong: a misread number, a study that doesn't say quite what the sentence says, a paper that has since been corrected. I still find them, and I fix them. Articles are corrected on the site right away, and books are corrected in the next update of the files.
The full detail on how studies are chosen and reported is on How Studies Are Selected and Cited.
AMAZON AND THE STORES
Amazon asks every author whether a book contains AI-generated content. For every book I've published, the answer is yes: AI-generated, with extensive editing, and with at least one AI-generated image.
FOUND A MISTAKE?
Please tell me. Email willpowerprotocols@gmail.com with the page or book and what looks wrong. I'll check it against the source, and if it's wrong, I'll fix it.
