AI WORKOUT PLAN PROMPT BUILDER
Answer a few questions and copy a ready-made prompt for a 4-week training plan. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any AI chat tool. Nothing you type is sent or saved.
Describe what bothers you, not your medical records. Leave out your name and anything that identifies you.
YOUR PROMPT
Act as an experienced strength and conditioning coach who works with adults over 50. About me: I'm over 50. Training history: I walk or do light exercise a few times a week. My goal is to build strength and muscle. I can train 3 days a week for about 45 minutes per session, with dumbbells. I have no injuries or limits that I know of. Build me a 4-week plan that includes: 1. A warm-up for each session. 2. Each exercise with sets, reps and rest, and the effort to aim for as reps in reserve (how many more reps I could have done). 3. How to progress from week 1 to week 4, and what to do if a session feels too hard. 4. An easier and a harder alternative for each exercise, and a swap for anything that could aggravate my limits. 5. Rest and recovery days, and light activity for the days off. 6. A short list of signs that mean I should stop and check with a physician or physical therapist. Rules: keep it to a format I can print on one or two pages. Ask me up to three questions first if anything important is missing. Don't give medical advice, supplement doses or medication guidance, and tell me which parts I should run past my physician before starting.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another AI chat tool. Nothing you type here is sent or saved.

QUESTIONS
CAN CHATGPT MAKE A GOOD WORKOUT PLAN?+
It can produce a reasonable draft when you give it details, but it doesn't know you, can't watch you move and can be confidently wrong. Studies that compared AI-written exercise plans with guidelines are covered in our guide to using ChatGPT as a personal trainer after 50. Treat the output as a draft to check, not a prescription.
IS IT SAFE TO PUT MY HEALTH INFORMATION INTO AN AI TOOL?+
Keep it general. Describe what bothers you (for example, 'left knee pain on stairs') instead of pasting medical records, test results or anything with your name, birth date or address on it. Check the privacy settings of the tool you use.
SHOULD I ASK THE AI ABOUT MEDICATIONS OR LAB RESULTS?+
No. Questions about medications, symptoms, lab values or whether exercise is safe for a condition belong with your physician. The prompt this tool builds asks the AI to flag what to check with your physician and to stay out of medical advice.
WHICH AI TOOL SHOULD I USE?+
Any general AI chat tool can take this prompt: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others. Features and free limits change often, so pick the one you already use.
DO YOU STORE WHAT I TYPE?+
No. The prompt is built in your browser and isn't sent anywhere. Copying it only puts it on your clipboard.
